DAVAO CITY — The Department of Education in Panabo City, Davao del Norte has issued a ‘show cause’ order against an elementary school principal who almost stabbed a delivery rider over a wrong delivery.

Raul Gauss, administrative officer V and spokesperson of DepEd Panabo City told Newsline, “We already issued a show-cause order to Sir Celestino Revamonte Jr. and the fact-finding is ongoing, we are giving him the chance to comment on the issue and air his side.”

Revamonte’s video went viral after the Facebook Page Tagumenyo Disciplinado uploaded a video showing him assaulting a delivery rider after his wife Annabelle found out that the item she ordered online was not the item delivered to their house in Barangay San Francisco, Panabo City last Sunday, October 24, 2021.

Revamonte is the principal of Narciso Galapin Elementary School in said city.

Annabelle then and there asked Blumar Bacaylar, the delivery rider to refund the P300 she paid for her online order.

Bacaylar explained to Annabelle that he cannot refund the amount as his task was only to deliver the item and suggested that they need to contact the seller over the wrong item sent. But Instead, Revamonte scolded Bacaylar, went out of their gate, and attempted to stab the delivery rider with a scissor he used to open the package.

Gacus said the act of Revamonte was “unfortunate: saying he was “carried away by his emotion as he pity his wife. He said it was conduct unbecoming of a public school teacher.

The DepEd Panabo City on its Facebook page denounced the act of Revamonte, and they are now conducting a fact-finding mission to determine if there is probable cause to administratively charge the principal based on the DepEd Memorandum Order No. 49 Series of 2006.

Based on said MO issued by DepEd, misconduct, disgraceful and immoral conduct, being notoriously undesirable, carries an offense of dismissal from service.
