Digos City Police nets P1.3M in drug bust, suspect killed

DIGOS CITY – A suspected big time drug pusher who had in his possession P1.3-million worth of illegal drugs ‘shabu’ was killed after he allegedly tried to shoot a narcotics agent who served as poseur buyer during an operation at around 11:48 March 4, in Chapter 7, Barangay Aplaya of this city. 

Lieutenant Colonel Vici Anthony Tababa, Cheif of Digos City police identified the suspect as Dionielito Dumagsa Tesoro alias Bebe, 35, a resident of Chapter 7, Barangay Aplaya.

A video footage shows operatives found three big sachets of illegal drugs inside his pocket when police investigators inspected his cadaver inside the morgue of Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital, weighing more or less 85.7 grams.

Tesoro’s live-in partner, a 15-year-old girl was arrested.

The operatives said they used boodle money on top of the genuine currency during the drug deal.  

The scene of the crime operatives (SOCO) during their investigation recovered a caliber .45 pistol with inserted empty magazine, five fired cartridge from .45 pistol, three fired cartridge cases from a 9mm pistol, one unit Mio motorcycle with ignition key, and personal belongings of the suspect.

Upon further verification, the authorities found out that Tesoro was previously convicted over a drug case but was released.. –Eldie Aguirre
