DAVAO CITY — The Department of Labor and Employment and the National Labor Relations Commission ask the aggrieved laborers of JV Angeles Construction Corporation (JVACC) to come to their office and file an official complaint for said agencies to act on their predicaments.

Erlinda Mamitag, chief of the DOLE Davao field office told Newsline in an interview “So far we have not received any complaint about JVACC and it will be good tha the aggrieved employees file their complaint “As of this time, we didn’t receive any complaint from the workers.”

Asked the JVACC filed a closure notice before the agency, Mamitag said “As of today, so far, we did not receive any notice that they are closing.”

The workers of JVACC are complaining about the nondisclosure of the company that they have been terminated.

According to the aggrieved employees, on July 26, 2022, the management informed them that an inventory will be conducted for only three days and later were asked to submit their clearances for their 13th month pay and other benefits.

The workers were not informed that the company will stop its operation but were just advised to submit a clearance which turned out to be a quit claim.

Workers are up in arms because they were not told of their employment status and the promised 13th month pay and other benefits are yet to be released.

Worse, some employees incurred loans from Social Security System (SSS) without their consent and only learned that someone from th administrative office applied a loan without their knowledge.

The workers also said the company deducted SSS, Philhealth and Pag-Ibig fund contributions every 15th and 30the which according to the law is only deducted at once very month end.

The workers want the National Labor Relations Commission to come in and help them in their cry.

The Newsline Philippines asked NLRC Commissioner Atty. Edelbert Restauro if laborers have sought the help of their office, but the later said no one so far.

But Restauro vowed that his agency will help the aggrieved workers on their problem and if ever a complaint is filed against JVACC, they will call the company to hear their concern.-Editha Z. Caduaya
