Duterte fires Philhealth President

DAVAO CITY (June 6) — President Rodrigo Duterte fired Philhealth  president and chief executive officer Celestina Ma. Jude dela Serna due excessive trips,  lavish lifestyle and the reported P8-million deficit incurred by the agency under her watch.

Dela Serna was fired as the Palace received  many complaints which is now being investigated.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque revealed  a senior a Place official conducted a preliminary investigation on the complaint and recommended “To fire her.”

But, dela Serna will remain as board member of the agency.

She has been blamed for the government’s failure to fully implement the Universal Health Care Law, which provides free medical access to every every Filipino.

Roque emphasised “We need a complete, honest Philhealth  chief, if we are going to have a successful universal health care,  so the complaint against her and Phhilhealth incurred a deficit is unacceptable.”

Malacañang Monday released the appointment of Philhealth board  of director  Roy Ferrer, as officer-charge.-ezc/NewsLine.ph
