DAVAO CITY —- As the world has yet to provide a vaccine to cure the coronavirus pandemic, President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday asked the Filipino people to follow the advice of the health experts and the Covid-19 protocol.

In a televised meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force which was aired Tuesday morning, Duterte said the government has identified and defined areas which will have different protocols to be followed under a specific circumstance, but above all these, he asked the people to always wear face masks, always follow social distancing and strict personal hygiene.

Though Duterte said he did not mean to scare anyone he stressed “Yong kama ng hospital lima na ang patay kung hindi ka sumunod- ikaw na ang pang-anim, yong kama ibigay sa iyo kalilinis lang, ikaw ang pang-anim”.

He asked those who are not working to stay at home and avoid infection “kung wala kang negosyo- anak ninyo walang klase–wala pang klase, dyan lang muna sa bahay, at safe kayo dyan,” Duterte added.

The Department of Health reported that as of May 11, 11,086 Filipinos have been tested positive for Covid-19, of which 1,999 recovered while 726 have died.-Newsline
