DAVAO CITY — The local government of Davao on Thursday night deployed four (4) buses for the passengers who are stranded due flooding in various parts of the city.
In an interview with Newsline, Harvey James Lanticse, information officer of the City of Davao, explained that Mayor Sebastian Duterte requested bus companies to provide free rides so that distraught passengers can go home safely.
If there is still a shortage of buses, said Lanticse, the city is ready to add more so that people can go home to their families.
The buses have a route that goes along Roxas Avenue to Toril, Roxas, Sasa, Panacan and vice versa.
The heavy downpour in Davao Region during the past three days is brought about by Shear line .
As of 5:00 in the afternoon on Thursday, the Office of Civil Defense XI reported that over 48,000 families have been displaced.
