DAVAO CITY — It was a regular farm day workfor Sandot Abad Peling until he accidentally plowed an unexploded 40-millimeter grenade projectile in Barangay Sapalan in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte last Thursday afternoon.

The bomb exploded but fortunate,y he was unharmed but his motorized hand tractor did not, it was in a total wreck.

Last Friday, Lt. Col. Esmael Madin, Datu Odin Sinsuat municipal police chief, said Peling survived and unharmed but the loud explosion triggered panic among residents of Barangay Sapalan.

Villagers were alarmed as Barangay Sapalan have been through a lot of encounters between the government forces and the Moro secessionist rebels.

Military bomb experts explained, there is a possibility that one from either side had launched a 40 MM grenade projectile that did not explode when it landed on soft ground and accidentally went off when it was plowed by Peling’s hand tractor
