Flooding hits Kidapawan City

KIDAPAWAN CITY —Several areas including elevated villages in the city center have been hit by floods since late afternoon until 8:00 in the evening of August 14, 2022.

The heavy downpour started at 2:00 in the afternoon and after three hours water ways and canals started to swell.

In Cotelco Village, residents have to transfer their equipment to higher grounds inside their houses as flood water entered their living rooms.

Today’s flood is the second incident which hit the major areas of the city eversince. But the two incidents took place with three weeks interval.

The city government earlier said the flood was caused by clogged drainage and waterways.
