Former broadcaster shot dead in General Santos City

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (June 23) — A former broadcaster for both AM and FM stations in the city was gunned down by unidentified assailants around 6:00 a.m. today, June 23, 2025.

Authorities identified the victim as Ali Macalintal, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community who had been working at a massage parlor in Barangay Lagao.

Initial police reports revealed that the gunmen entered the establishment along Calina Street and shot Macalintal at close range, resulting in his death.

Investigators are still determining the motive behind the attack.
