Grandmother fatally attacked inside barangay hall in Bansalan

DAVAO DEL SUR – In a separate but equally distressing incident, a 70-year-old grandmother was murdered inside the Barangay Hall in Bansalan, Davao del Sur on Friday, November 10.

As per records from the Philippine National Police (PNP), the victim, Bobi Lofranco Montero, filed a complaint against the 55-year-old suspect, Ronit Villarin, at the Altavista Barangay Hall in Bansalan, Davao del Sur, just before the crime occurred.

The elderly victim accused Villarin of stealing her chickens. Allegedly, when the grandmother presented evidence of the theft, the suspect became agitated, pulled the victim’s hair, smashed her head on the concrete floor of the Barangay Hall, and took a machete, which he then used to fatally attack her.

Barangay Tanods swiftly apprehended Villarin, and he was taken to the Bansalan Municipal Police Station.

According to the Bansalan PNP, Villarin has a history of drug addiction and has served time in prison.
