Harassed municipal mayor appeals for President Duterte’s Intervention

May 12, 2018 by Editha Z. Caduaya

DAVAO CITY (May 12)- Banaybanay Mayor Ada Lopez has decried the alleged harassment done by Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Regional Director Atty. Remlane Tambuang against police personnel who were safekeeping the Barangay Elections.

She has asked President Rodrigo Duterte to intervene and appealed for public vigilance for a safe and orderly conduct of the Barangay Elections on Monday, May 14.

Lopez said she has no other recourse but defend the public and the police officers. “I, for one has a death threat so dito ko dinadaan sa social media ang lahat ng panawagan para sa ating mahal na Presidente Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. I am begging for your help. We cannot do anything if there is a person like Atty. Tambuang who is powerful and who have everything—money, goons and guns para lang manalo ang kanyang dalawang kapatid na tumatakbo sa pagka Kapitan. As a Mayor & mother of Banaybanay, I would to ask your immediate response on this.
