HirNa taxi start-app assures data privacy

July 25, 2018 by Bobby Lagsa

Cagayan de Oro City (July 25)– Philippines’ ride-hailing start-app HirNa says that its data protection for customers who signed up is backed with years of experience and a 2 million dollar technology protection and support.

HirNa is one of the newest Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS) with presence in the cities of Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Iligan in Mindanao and is expanding to Bohol, Ilo-ilo and Bacolod Cities in the Visayas.

At the helm of HirNa’s President and Chief Executive Officer is Franciso Mauricio who also serves as President of Avis Philippines, the car rental company that has been in the Philippines for more than 50 years.

Mauricio said that data gathered by their mobile application is secured and safe with their framework protection. “There are layers and layers of protection that keeps user’s data safe,” Mauricio said in an interview with NewslinePh.

Mauricio said that creating a safe ecology for their application was foremost in their intention and consumer protection comes first.

He added that upon signing up to the HirNa App, consumer can choose which data field they can fill in, “Number one, its optional, you’re still able to download the app, and not placing information you’re not comfortable in placing, it’s still an option, you’re not required to place it,” he stressed.

Mauricio added that transport costumers who filled in all the data are assured of protection. “For those who place it, how secure is our data? Our servers are located in Avis (Global), the ones who developed this app is Avis Global, the world’s leading car transportation company, car mobility solution,” Mauricio said.

For HirNa, the country’s home grown ride-hailing start-up tech company, is backed with close to 75 years of transportation needs expertise via Avis. “Many are saying we are a Filipino company, we are a Filipino ride-hailing app, that’s well and good but they don’t just realized how expensive it is to really get a proper app.  We invested 2 million dollars for this app, so even if I wanted to say we are a local company, but our backbone is actually worth 2 million dollars developed by Avis,” Mauricio said.

Mauricio added that with all the investment, the app comes with inherent (data) security and security protocol not to breach the layers of (fire)walls.  It also does not have any technology glitches. “We are glitch free and we are also confident with our security that your data with us is secured,” Mauricio said.

HirNa has signed a contract with National Privacy Commission that they cannot share data they gathered with their app with anyone, “We are (legally) bound not share data with other companies,” Mauricio added.  -Lance Baconguis/NewsLine.ph
