How coronavirus changes student life

In December 2019, when the Wuhan virus broke off, many of us- the millennials did not bother, we were busy with a new year’s wish and what the ‘Medya Noche’ would be in our homes.

But in the middle of January 2020, the issue became hotter and hotter each day, until the government decided that our classes be conducted online- oh! I asked my self, what would it be like.

Going up with the digital platform for social exchanges and Netflix for entertainment was among our list of the wannabe kit, but not online classes, however, we finished our school year via online classes.

A lot of changes have occurred ever since Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has struck our community, including the learning system of students.

Online classes are now being considered by schools so that students may be able to continue with their education despite the current situation we are facing with this pandemic.

It may be shocking to students that our government has decided to pursue online classes because a lot of students may not have access to online courses due to a lack of materials.

Some students who do not have access to online courses have no choice but to buy gadgets to be able to go online, which means additional cost to their parents.

As we all know, buying materials for online courses is another add up to the costs that a household with a tight budget would be facing.

Many parents and students may not agree to online classes, but this is also for us to not to add up to the cases of COVID-19 patients.

It may be hard to adjust with this setup, but as of the moment, we should prioritize our health.

Going online for education is a new thing, but as it is now– staying healthy is the call of the day.

For sure, mall rats missed the fun of moving around, going places but what can we do, we need to compel ourselves to embrace the health protocol which the government imposes.

The statistics show most of those tested positive are on their productive years or the elderly.

As it is now, the space between me and my teacher is just a click away-but the threat the coronavirus brings to humanity is a thing that every millennial should look into– the threat is just waiting outside and the best thing is to stay at home and be where our family is.

Covid-19 brings us back to the arms of our parents, we have more time to spend as we prevent ourselves from getting infected. –Althea Beatrice Caduaya Felizarta
