HS student, two others killed while trying to escape with carnapped vehicle in DavNor

TAGUM CITY (March 27) — A high school student and his two companions were killed when they put up a fight against pursuing policemen, while they were trying to escape with their carnapped motorbike, Sunday at about 7:40 in the evening in Barangay Salvacion, Carmen, Davao del Norte.

Davao del Norte Police Director Colonel Ferlu Silvio said the police operatives from Carmen Municipal Station chased the suspects after Kim Roger Sandig, 23, a resident of Purok 2, Kapatungan, Trento, Agusan del Sur, sought assistance claiming his motorbike, a Suzuki Raider 150, was carnapped by three persons.

Sandig reported to the police that his from the police claiming his motorbike was carnapped in Barangay Mabaus, Carmen, Davao del Norte.

The police report stated that “PNP personnel of Carmen MPS conducted hot pursuit and were able to engage in an armed confrontation against the suspects. Three suspects fired their guns prompting our police to return fire. Two of the suspects were declared dead on arrival while the other one was brought to Tagum Regional Hospital to undergo treatment,” but later died.

Silvio identified the suspects as Adrian Alibangbang, 18, Senior High School Student of New Visayas, Panabo City and a resident of Purok Durian; Eric Tejada , 34, a resident of Purok Pag asa, Lauron St., Brgy. Gredu, Panabo City and; Jericks Baterna Dulla alias ‘Chokoy’, 23, single, jobless and a resident of Purok Sunkist, Niceville Subd., Brgy. Cagangohan, Panabo City.

Silvio revealed, while the police were investigating, one victim from the previous incident, a certain Lauredell Gentugao positively identified the three suspects at Carmen, District Hospital, as the same persons who attempted to carnap his Yamaha Sniper motorcycle in Brgy. San Miguel, Tagum City.”

Gentugao told the police, that Tejada shot him but he was able to cover himself, the tip of the visor of his bull cap that was hit.

Carmen police recovered Sandig’s motorbike.

Recovered from the suspects possession were

  • – Caliber .38 without Serial Number loaded with Two (2) live ammunitions
  • – One (1) Fired cartridge of believed to be caliber .38 ammunition
  • – Caliber .45 Colt bearing serial number 548143, with Magazine inserted loaded with Three (3) ammunitions
  • – One (1) magazine loaded with Six (6) ammunitions
  • – Smith and Wesson Caliber 357 Magnum with serial number 367404 loaded with Four (4) Ammunitions

The getaway vehicle of the suspects was Honda TMX  color Black, bearing Plate Number XV2421 with Chassis number KB509363948 and Engine Number KB509E363955, was also recovered.-ASC/NewsLine.ph
