DAVAO CITY —  President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday urged Apollo Quiboloy to attend the Senate hearing about the alleged sexual offenses hurled against him by the former members of his church “To tell his side of the story”.

Marcos said that Quiboloy, the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) should use inquiries at the House of Representatives and the Senate to “say his side of the story”, as both chambers issued subpoenas after he failed to attend hearings.

The President urged “Sagutin nya lahat ang tanong di tapos na (just answer all the questions-then it ends, Just face the questioning in the house and in the Senate.” The government according to Marcos is trying to be fair.

The Senate Committee on women, children, family relations, and gender equality chaired by Senator Risa Hontiveros is investigating the accusations of human trafficking, sexual abuse , and violence against the self-proclaimed “appointed son of God” and his group.

Quiboloy earlier revealed that a group was out to assassinate him with the help of Philippine government officials but Marcos quipped “Walang gustong umassassinate sa kanya (No one wants to assassinate him)… Why would anyone want to do that?.”

The president even wondered “Hindi ko maintindihan yong sinasabi nya bakit sya i-assassinate? (I do not understand when why he will be assassinated).
