Hundreds fete at Kapalong’s 4th Hab-hab Festival

DAVAO CITY — Hundreds came to witness the kick-off ceremony of the 4th Hab-hab festival in Kapalong town, Davao del Norte on Monday, showcasing the heritage culinary with an array of colorful, delicious food and delicacies produced and sold in town and its neighboring locality.

The Hab-hab Festival is a platform for local food merchants to display delectable offerings and engage with the different communities of the town and on top of the sumptuous food, there is unity amidst diverty and the culture of peace in placed.

Hab-hab is a vernacular word which means happily eating delicious food.

Mayor Tess Timbol and her husband Vice Mayor Edgardo Timbol led the opening ceremony for the weeklong festivity, it is a double festivity as the town commemorates it’s 75th Founding Anniversary-the Diamond Jubilee.

Marivic Adriatico, the Business Development Division Chief of the Department of trade and Industry in her message encouraged the local entrepreneurs to promote their brand with her agency supporting the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.

This year’s celebration, themed “Kapalong@75: Celebrating Peace and Inspiring Peace and Development,” was organized by Mayor TImbol with Vice Mayor Edgardo Timbol, Sangguniang Bayan Members and other town officials.

A live band entertained the guests while enjoying their sumptous food, it added color to the occasion.
