Improvised bomb explodes in Basilan

ISABELA CITY, Philippines — The police are conducting an in-depth investigation to unmask the perpetrators behind the attempt to destroy a construction equipment by setting off an improvised bomb in sitio Processing, Sumagdang here. The incident happened Wednesday night, April 11, 2018.

Military officials disclosed that the bombed was placed under a parked loader owned by Engr. Mike Salongan, a land developer.

Salongan is undertaking the land development in the property  for a housing project owned by  Hadji Haber Kalbi and Hadji Nur Janatul.

Supt. Restituto Pangusban, Isabela City police chief, said the incident occurred at around 8:07 p.m. No casualty was reported.

Pangusban said the explosion, categorized as low order detonation, did not cause major damage on the heavy equipment.-Richard G. Falcatan/Newsline.Ph
