DIGOS CITY – In a recent medical mission organized by the Davao del Sur Provincial Government, hundreds of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) housed at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Digos City District Jail – Male and Female Dormitory received essential healthcare services.

The event, which took place on Friday, October 27, provided inmates with various medical services, including physical check-ups, eye examinations, dental care, and minor surgeries. Additionally, the medical mission offered free circumcision services.

This healthcare initiative coincided with the observance of the National Correctional Consciousness Week, a tradition established by Proclamation Number 551, Series of 1995, during the term of former President Fidel V. Ramos. The week serves as an annual occasion to provide hope and support to individuals detained in correctional facilities.
