DAVAO CITY — A good harvest.

This how Indigenous Peoples described when the harvested two hundred and thirty three (233) kilos of corn from their field, this time with the help of the Revitalized Pulis Sa Barangay or RPSB of the Philippine National Police XI.

The village of Naputlan, Barangay Sto. Niño in Talaingod town, Davao del Norte, is the heaven of the Ata-Manobo tribe who are into abaca farming but with inspiration and support of the RPSB, they again ventured into corn production.

On April 23, the group Tata Ata-Manobo Farmers Association harvested their con field and noticed the bountiful produce.

Florendo Andilong, one of the member-beneficiary said “Dili ko katuo daku kaayo among abot (I cannot believe our harvest increased).

For Andilong, the support of the police and the Provincial and Municipal Agriculturist Office enabled them to earn more with only P3,500 seed money as a start-up capital.

The intervention was under the auspices of Executive Order No.70 or End Local Communist Armed Conflict of the Duterte administration.-Paul T. Palacio
