LTO apprehends dozens of motorist along Davao Coastal Road

DAVAO CITY — Operatives from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) regional office apprehended over a dozen of motorists last night for violating the traffic rules in the city when they passed through the newly opened Coastal Road in Bago Aplaya.

Often motorists believe that government agencies do not operate during the night but on Monday night, the LTO-XI Law Enforcement Section flagged down motorists for violating Republic Act 10913 or the Anti Distracted Driving Act, Roadway Parking, Obstruction on Traffic and driving without valid drivers license and for using mobile phones while driving.

The LTO-XI in a Facebook post stated that while they understand that people flock to the newly opened 8-kilometer coastal road which starts at Bago Aplaya and exits at Tulip Drive and Vice-Versa, but motorist must follow the road rules and traffic code of the city and the country.

A dozen of personnel were deployed in various areas in last night’s operation.

They also cited some motorists for violating Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code and the Joint Administrative Order 2014-01 section 2d which prohibits a vehicle to operate with defective/improper/unauthorized accessories, devices and equipment.-Paul T. Palacio
