Magnitude 5.2 Quake jolts Southern Mindanao

DAVAO CITY — It was just seconds but it was strong, that you can here the metal beams cracking.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that magnitude 5.2 earthquake of tectonic origin happened at 7:18 in the evening.

It was located 028 kilometersLocation = 06.78N, 125.59E – 025 km N 87° E of Digos City (Davao Del Sur) Reported Intensities:Intensity II – Don Carlos, Bukidnon

The quake was also felt :

  • Intensity IV – Malungon, Sarangani;Koronadal City and Tupi,South Cotabato
  • Intensity III – Alabel, Sarangani; General Santos City
  • Intensity II – Kiamba, Sarangani

The cities of Davao and Kidapawan are not in the list but residents felt the strong ground movement.

Phivolcs says, residents should expect aftershocks.
