Man nabbed at Davao Checkpoint for suspected shabu possession

DAVAO CITY – A 39-year-old man, identified only by his alias “Ariel,” was apprehended at a Task Force Davao (TF-Davao) checkpoint in Barangay Sirawan, Toril District, for alleged possession of illegal drugs on Saturday night, March 22, 2025.

According to a report from TF-Davao, the suspect was riding a taxi when he was flagged down at the joint checkpoint operated by TF-Davao and Toril Police Station 8 at around 8:15 p.m. A routine inspection revealed a sachet containing suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P339,320.

The suspect is now in the custody of Toril Police Station 8, along with the confiscated evidence. Authorities are preparing to file appropriate charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Further investigation is ongoing to determine the source and intended destination of the illegal substance.
