Marawi City Police hauls P1 million illegal drugs

DAVAO CITY — Police authorities in Marawi City arrested a suspected illegal drug dealer who had P1 million suspected ‘Shabu’ in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Ilian, Mulondo on May 3, 2024.

Police conducted a buy-bust operation against a certain “Diplakay” using marked money and a poseur buyer.

Diplakay, considered a high value target, tried to escape when he sensed that he was dealing with police personnel he tried to escape with his motorbike but was captured. The suspect had 160 grams of suspected shabu in his possession which has an estimated market value of P1,020,000.00.

The suspect and the drug evidence are now in the custody of Marawi City Police.

Charges for violating RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,  will be filed against Diplakay.

The buy-bust was carried out by joint operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit/Provincial Special Operations Group, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Marawi City Police Station, Mulondo Municipal Police Station, and 1403rd Regional Mobile Force Company RMFB14-A.
