ZAMBOANGA CITY — Mayor John Dalipe greeted Zamboangueña rower Kristine Paraon at City Hall following her exceptional performance at the 2023 Asian Rowing Junior and U23 Championships in Pattaya, Thailand. Paraon clinched the bronze medal in the Women’s U23 Singles Sculls (BW1X) event.

During the visit on Friday, December 29, Mayor Dalipe expressed joy and pride as he praised Paraon for bringing honor to Zamboanga City with her remarkable achievements in the Asian Championships.

The mayor commended the 21-year-old athlete for her hard work and talent, highlighting the city’s pride in her impressive victory on the international stage.

Hailing from Upper Dulian, Bunguiao, Paraon was joined by her parents, brother, Upper Dulian Bunguiao Chairperson, coach, City Sports Division Chief Dr. Cecile Atilano, and PRISAA Executive Director Prof. Elbert Atilano Sr. during the courtesy visit.

Paraon, a highly decorated rower, has consistently performed exceptionally in previous international competitions, further enhancing her impressive collection of medals.
