Military holds 9th live fire exercise in North Cotabato

COTABATO PROVINCE – Soldiers from the 6th Field Artillery Deadly Accurate Battalion, Army Artillery Regiment, Philippine Army showcased their skills during the 9th Live Fire Exercise held recently in Barangay Salunayan, Midsayap, North Cotabato.

The Live Fire Exercise, spearheaded by 6th Field Artillery Battalion Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Erwin Albesa, was part of the ongoing Regiment’s Proficiency Project. Its aim is to enhance the competency-based training certification program to ensure exceptional proficiency in howitzer firing units and artillery operations personnel.

The rigorous assessment process for the Live Fire Exercise relied on the Regiment Certification Committee (RCC). The RCC’s mission was to evaluate and assess the knowledge and skills of personnel and firing units within the Deadly Accurate Battalion.

The certification process yielded positive results, recognizing the outstanding skills of the personnel assigned to the Bravo Battery, 6th Field Artillery Battalion, and Headquarters Battery 6FAB. To acknowledge their achievements, deserving personnel from these units were honored for their respective roles.

Aside from the Live Fire Exercise, Lt. Col. Albesa engaged with troops and conducted a comprehensive after-activity review with the command group, support group, instructors, students from the Field Artillery Group Proficiency Training (FAGPT), forward observer group, and drone operators.

The exercise received extensive feedback to celebrate its success.

The Army Regiment’s 9th Live Exercise serves as a testament to the dedication and skills of the Deadly Accurate Battalion. Through rigorous certification and ongoing training efforts, they aim to remain at the forefront of excellence in artillery operations.
