DAVAO CITY — Police arrested a 17-year-old suspect, identified as “Jane,” at their residence in Purok 1, Barangay Mapaang, Maco, Davao de Oro, at around 3:15 a.m. on December 22.
The minor is facing charges for violations of Section 4 of Republic Act 11930, also known as the “Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act,” and Republic Act 7610, or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.”
According to a report from the Davao City Police Office, the arrest warrant was issued by Judge Zarah Daquila Aguisando-Silvosa, Acting Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 33 in Davao City.
No bail was recommended for the case involving the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act, while bail for the violation of RA 7610 was set at ₱100,000.
The minor, who is a student, is currently in the custody of the Santa Ana Police Station 1 in Davao City as legal proceedings are underway.
