NBI, PDEA bust two drug peddler in possession of P1-million worth of meth

DAVAO CITY — The joint buy-bust operation of the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) resulted in the arrest of a high-value target in possession of P1,050,000 of suspected ‘shabu’ at Main Road Doña Vicenta Subdivision this city at 5:05 in the afternoon, Wednesday.

Antonio Rivera, PDEA XI director in an interview with Newsline, identified the suspects Arlin Gabayan Anastacio, known as ‘Inday’ and alias Paljet identified as June Ardi Lopez.

The two just had a deal with a poseur-buyer agent at the main road of Doña Vicenta Subdivision, here, when the arrest was made, Rivera revealed.

When operatives frisked the bodies of the suspects in front of barangay officials, they recovered more or less 70 grams of shabu with an estimated value of Php 1,050,000.

Rivera revealed that the suspects are Davao residents who are known drug couriers, they travel to Kabacan, North Cotabato to purchase illegal drugs and distribute the same to their regular clients here.

The successful joint operation was participated by operatives from NBI and PDEA namely: Jose Wilson Esparcia Jr. together with Rommel Adrian Dela Peña under the direct supervision of IA III Fe Fuertes and IA I Strass Villacis with Rivera and NBOI XI director Jonathan Balite.

Cases for violation of sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 are now being prepared for filling in court. Newsline
