Neophyte DavNor guv works even on holidays, weekends

TAGUM CITY — Neophyte Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib made true his campaign promise to work 24/7 and during holidays to cope up to the demands of his province.

On August 21, a non-working holiday, Davao-based reporters witnessed Jubahib holding a special meeting among department heads to discuss the 2020 Annual Investment Plan (AIP) and thee Local Development Plan (LDP) as the provincial government is now working on the annual and plantilla budget.

“When I say I will work 24/7 I do it, that has been my work vow when I was the chief-of-staff of Congressman Pantaleon Daz Alvarez of the first district of Davao del Norte, because for me, people welfare and benefit should not be taken for granted especially that our province is logging behind in terms of programs and development for out people,” Jubahib said in vernacular.

The security officer on duty of the provincial capital said “Si Gov? he is working even on Saturdays and Sundays, kahit holiday, kasi ayaw nyang may mga pending na papers especially pag – it involves people, nasanay na rin kami.”

Engineer Jane Rabanos, the Provincial Planning and Development Officer said “We are working beyond 5:00 in the afternoon, sometimes until 1:00 in the morning, because we are supporting all the effort of the governor.”

Rabanos who had been in government service for almost three decades said, everyone in the capitol noticed Jobahib’s passion to serve “he really wants to get things done, even if he is a neophyte, he is a fast learner and his leadership 24/7, and we are getting used to it.”
