DAVAO CITY (October 1) — Netizens lambasted ACTS OFW Partylist Representative Aniceto “John” Bertiz for conduct unbecoming.

This,  after Bertiz reportedly  harassed and  snatched the identification card of an airport  security checker who requested him to take off his shoes as part of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) security protocol Saturday, September 29.

On Sunday,  Netizens feast on the  soundless closed-circuit television video posted on different facebook accounts, showing Bertiz confronting the helpless security checker  identified as Hamilton Abdul.

The CCTV footage showed Bertiz going through airport security,  Abdul gestured like asking  him to remove his shoes like other passengers, but instead, Bertiz showed his ID  and later forcibly snatched Abdul’s ID.

But Bertiz was quick to defend himself, he said  he was merely reprimanding Abdul for not conducting security checks on several “Chinese looking nationals”.

His  claim is however contrary to the viral video, as all those who passed submitted themselves for inspection.

Bertiz explained he was calling out Abdul for allegedly allowing several Chinese-looking persons to slip through airport premises without undergoing security checks.

Office of the Transport Security (OTS) administration Undersecretary Arturo M. Evangelists said “Lahat naman ng pasahero talagang dumadaan diyan. In our country, the only one exempted is the President. From VP down, hindi exempted diyan sa screening na ‘yan. That is embodied sa international law.”

Last week, Bertiz also drew flak online for joking that the new batch of agricultural and biosystems engineers would not get their respective licenses from the Professional Regulation Commission if they say that they do not know Special Assistant to the President Bong Go.
