Newly constructed road projects in Lamitan City officially opened

BASILAN – Lamitan City Mayor Roderick “Oric” Furigay spearheaded the inauguration of recently completed road projects in Lamitan City, Basilan. The newly unveiled roads are situated in Barangays Maganda, Matatag, Matibay, Malinis, Malakas, Maligaya, and several other barangays.

Funded through the city’s 20% development fund and loans from Landbank, these road projects reflect Mayor Furigay’s administration’s commitment to advancing the city’s progress and providing safe and efficient thoroughfares for motorists, commuters, and pedestrians.

Beyond the improved infrastructure, the development of these concrete roads is expected to contribute to the growth of the local economy by enhancing accessibility to businesses and facilitating transportation of goods.

Mayor Furigay expressed his sincere appreciation to the members of the City Council, contractors, and dedicated city employees for their unwavering efforts in realizing the project’s completion.

Highlighting the significance of this achievement, Furigay emphasized the importance of celebrating the upcoming 40th Lami-Lamihan Festival, as Lamitan City continues to attain notable milestones in its development. – Brielle Go
