P1.1 billion Pampansang Pabahay to rise in Misamis Occidental

DAVAO CITY — The national government in collaboration with the provincial government of Misamis Occidental will construct a P1.1 billion l–A new low-cost housing project in Calamba, Misamis Occidental. It is part of the national government’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

The Green Hills Village project will comprise five (5) six-storey condominium building with 745 units for habitation and community amenities will sit in over a hectare property in Purok 3, Barangay Northern Poblacion in Calamba town.

The project culminated after the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the construction and development of the housing program was signed on February 18, 2021, between Mayor Luisito Villanueva Jr. and Randy Apdujan and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Regional Director Ariel Abragan.

In his message, Villanueva hoped that the construction of this Pambansang Pabahay project will be done in two years,

Governor Henry S. Oaminal committed to fulfill the Misamisnons’ dream of owning a decent, affordable, and comfortable homes to call their own.’

“It is for the best interest of the people that we provide this housing program,” Oaminal emphasized.

He recalled, in 2022, “Myself together with the local executives who are here present with our two Congressman Jason Almonte of the first district and Congressman Ando Oaminal of the second district, committed to deliver services to those who needed most, especially those who cannot afford to build houses for their families,:

DHSUD Regional Director Ariel Abragan shared that the Pambansang Pabahay program of PBBM aims to help informal settlers and provide houses to those who want to own a house.

He also thanked Governor Oaminal and Mayor Villanueva and Governor Oaminal for supporting this project. He added that without the help of the LGU, the vision of providing affordable housing for everyone in the province would not be realized.

“The Pambansang Pabahay project is the commitment of President Marcos but we this cannot be realized with out the help of Governor Oaminal and the LGU.”

Calamba, is the first town to implement the 4PH in Misamis Occidental.
