COTABATO CITY – In line with its goal to build ‘permanent and more accessible’ government centers across the region, the Bangsamoro Government is set to build a P25.7-million worth two-storey municipal hall in Talayan municipality of Maguindanao province.

On Sunday, March 7, BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim, along with Interior and Local Government Minister Naguib Sinarimbo, Public Works Minister Eduard Guerra, Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal, and Talayan Mayor Ali Midtimbang, led the ground breaking ceremony for the said infrastructure project.

The project is funded by the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM) under the Bangsamoro Appropriations Act of 2021, and will be implemented by the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG).

CM Ebrahim said that under the approved Bangsamoro Development Plan for 2021-2022, one of Bangsamoro Government’s priority programs is to build more than 2000 infra projects all over the region.

“This 2021, each of the municipalities all throughout the region will have programs and projects that will help improve their services, including the construction of barangay halls,” he said.

A similar groundbreaking ceremony will be conducted in the towns of South Upi and Datu Blah Sinsuat in Maguindanao by the end of March or first week of April.

Last January 18, OCM and MILG inked a memorandum of agreement with the municipal mayors of Talayan, South Upi, Kabuntalan, Datu Blah Sinsuat, and Sultan Kudarat for the construction of executive halls, public markets, and legislative buildings.
