Palace appoints Santos as OIC of NFA

DAVAO CITY — The Palace announced today the appointment of Piolito Santos as officer-in-charge of the National Food Authority.

This, after NFA administrator Roderico Bioco and 138 other officials and employees of the agency were place under preventive suspended for the 6-months following the questionable sale of the government’s rice buffer stocks.

Bioco and his alleged cohorts were suspended to give way to the ongoing investigation of the alleged anomalous sale of rice.

Santos was the NFA’s assistant administrator for finance and administration before he was appointed
