Suspected runner leaves 3kg of drugs

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) and the Luuk Municipal Police Station and other law enforcement agencies intercepted a drug courier in an interdiction operation on April 8 in Luuk, Sulu.

Authorities identified the drug runner as Almando Insali a resident of Zamboanga City. Insali came from Sucuban town and arrived in Luuk when he noticed that law enforcement agents spotted him.

Sensing that law enforcement officers were about to approach him, he threw his bag and ran towards the Mangrove forest where police lost sight of him.

“The operating troops then conducted hot pursuit operation but despite the effort, he was nowhere to be found,” PDEA-BARMM said.

The operating troops checked the contents of the bag and found that it contained suspected illegal drug Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu).

The said interdiction resulted in the seizure of three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic bags containing suspected shabu weighing more of less three kilograms with an estimated P20.4 million.

Also recovered from the bag of Insali were one Cellular Phone, Vaccination Card, a Student ID Driving Permit, and a blue towel.

The alleged shabu is now under the custody of PDEA-BARMM in Sulu.
