DAVAO CITY – Governor Edwin Jubahib of Davao del Norte, along with Vice President Sara Duterte, Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Secretary Leo Magno, and OPPAPRU Eastern Mindanao Director Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapiña, attended the inauguration of a Peace Village within a mall in Ecoland, Davao City on September 11.

The event aimed to promote genuine peace among Filipinos and coincided with the National Peace Consciousness Month.

The opening of the Peace Village signifies the commitment to resolving conflicts, strikes, and wars through peaceful dialogue. Governor Jubahib expressed hope that the Davao Region would maintain its insurgency-free status through cooperation.

“The purpose of our fellowmen or different agencies is that they have, like, an office within SM-Ecoland where they can conduct activities and whatever activities are happening in Region 11 provinces and highly urban cities like Davao, which receives more for everyone so that we can strengthen our sustainability in our insurgency-free Region 11,” Governor Jubahib explained.

The Peace Village serves as a symbol of the continuous effort to achieve lasting peace in the region.
