PH Army’s 2nd mechanized brigade celebrates 10th activation anniversary

ILIGAN CITY — In a simple ceremony, the Army’s 2nd Mechanized Infantry (Magbalantay) Brigade celebrates its 10th activation anniversary in the Armory Division here on Tuesday, together with the Philippine Army officers and troops, multisector stakeholders, and local government partners.

MGen. Generoso M. Ponio, Commander of the 1st Infantry Division, attended the event as Guest of Honor and Speaker, while an awarding ceremony recognizing the best EP/CAFGU within the area of responsibility of the brigade followed. Ponio was also joined byMagbalantay Brigade Commander, B.Gen. Facundo Palafox Jr.

“This 10th-anniversary celebration is a renewal of the Army’s commitment to serve and protect the people of Lanao Del Norte and Iligan. As guardians of peace, this is also our time to recognize the outstanding achievements of our men,” said Palafox.

The officers vowed that Philippine Army will continue to uphold the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR), an 18-year transformation and governance program which ensures a sustainment of strategies by establishing participation of external stakeholders.

Lanao del Norte government officials were invited to witness the celebration which carries the theme, “Sulong Magbalantay, Sampung Taon na Kaagapay Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran”. Newsline.ph
