PH starts exporting Okra to South Korea

DAVAO CITY — The Philippines has started exporting its Okra to South Korea on Sunday, June 6, 2021,

In a Facebook post, Agriculture Secretary William Dar and Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez led the official ceremonial send-off of the initial shipment of 1,200 kilograms of fresh okra to the Republic of Korea on June 6, 2021 at the Philippine Airlines Cargo Terminal, Pasay City.

According to Dar, The okra shipment, which is the first of three shipments before the season ends, is expected to arrive in Korea within 36 hours to maintain its quality and freshness.

Producers of fresh okra for export to Korea strictly comply with the sanitary and phytosanitary requirements and Good Agricultural Practices to ensure product safety and quality.

Traceability codes and date of packing are also indicated in each pack of exported okra.
