Philippines has 900k new 18 year-old voters

DAVAO CITY  – The Commission on Elections has registered 968,730 new voters, who are expected to cast their first vote in the May 2022 elections.

Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said females dominate the number of the new registrants “Male: 449,019, Female: 509,711,” she said in her Twitter account, @rowena_guanzon.

The young registrants are now part of the country’s 5,017,267 new voters. After the nationwide voter registration period closed on October 3, the country now has 61,999,327 registered voters.
