Plane from Taiwan went off Kalibo International airport runway

DAVAO CITY (March 14) — The Far Eastern Air flight FE321 carrying 122 passengers from Taiwan went off at runway 05 Kalibo International Airport in Kalibo, Aklan on Wednesday night.

The airport is the gateway to world-famous Boracay Island in Malay town.

No one was hurt but the airport operation was suspended for hours.

In a statement, Eric Apolinario, spokesperson of he Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said the airport suspended its operations after the plane stalled at 6:04 p.m.

Apolonio said the plane “overextended to the grassy area” while doing a 180-degree turn. It was towed to the remote parking bay.-NewsLine.ph
