PNP Chief Marbil Receives Prestigious Bravery Award from Malaysia

DAVAO CITY — Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has been honored with the esteemed First Class Police Force Bravery Award, known as the Panglima Gagah Pasukan Polis (PGPP), by His Majesty Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XVII Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Sultan Iskandar, the King of Malaysia.

This distinguished recognition from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) acknowledges Gen. Marbil’s significant contributions to enhancing security cooperation between the Philippines and Malaysia.

The PGPP award was conferred by the Malaysian monarch on October 30, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur. It honors extraordinary bravery, leadership, and service in law enforcement, reserved for individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to national security.

The award is granted to distinguished members of the Royal Malaysia Police and select foreign officials involved in collaborative efforts to combat transnational crimes such as terrorism, human trafficking, and organized crime.

Gen. Marbil was commended for his effective leadership within the PNP, particularly in crime prevention and cross-border security initiatives that have strengthened cooperation between the Philippines and Malaysia.

His dedication to enhancing public safety, community engagement, and building trust in law enforcement embodies the spirit of the Panglima Gagah Pasukan Polis award.
