Police confiscated assorted firecrackers in Panabo City

DAVAO CITY — Police personnel from Panabo City, Davao del Norte confiscated various types of fireworks or firecrackers in the city market around 2:00 today. December 24.

According to the police report, the police conducted a patrol ensure that no firecracker nor pyrotechnic device is sold in the market to prevent a bloody Christmas following the directive from the Philippine National Police.

The PNP has imposed a firecracker ban in the country.

But the police discovered some vendor violated that order prompting them to make a round up, when the vendors noticed that the police were coming to their place, they quickly threw away the fireworks they were selling and then went towards different directions or entrances to the market.

The police chased them but the suspects quickly ran away and none of them were caught or found.
The police took away the remaining types of explosives left by the suspects.

The confiscated firecrackers are in the custody of the police.
Based on the regulation and policy, the police took inventory of it and then soaked it in a bucket of water to ensure the items were destroyed.

Earlier on, the police warned the residents that selling firecrackers are pyrotechnic devices are probihited.
