DAVAO CITY — Elements of Regional Drug Enforcement Unit in Maguindanao have arrested a high-value target (HVT) who reportedly carried illegal drugs worth P680,000 in an entrapment operation in Barangay Dalican in Cotabato City on Monday at around 4:00 in the afternoon.

Brigadier General John Guyguyon, the police regional director of the Bangsamoro Autonomous region in Muslin Mindanao identified the suspect as Amilodin Akmad, 22 years old, but his three companions were able to escape during the buy-bust operation.

The police, according to Guyguyon, have been monitoring Akmad during the last three weeks which led to his arest.

Police believe Akmad is the source of illegal drug being distributed in the 30 of the province’s 36 towns of Mindanao.

Akmad is now detained at the Datu Odin Sinsuat police custodial facility pending charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002
