Police Regional Office 12 condemns killing of anti-drug cop

DAVAO CITY — The police regional command 12 (PRO-12) condemned the recent ambush which killed PSSgt. Abejay Deliro Dandan assigned to the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Cotabato Police Provincial Office.

Police BGen Jimili Macaraeg, chief of Police Regional Office -12, in a statement condemned the incident.

Police report showed that Dandan was traversing from Carmen to Kidapawan City on board black Toyota Innova when he was chased by a pick up truck and later pummelled and shot several times by the suspects using unidentified type of firearms onboard gray pickup and SUV vehicle around 8:00 p.m. on April 11 along the national highway in Barangay Katidtuan, Kabacan, Cotabato

The victim was brought to Mindanao Doctors Hospital and Cancer Center Inc. for medical treatment and subsequently referred to Kidapawan Medical Specialist Center, Kidapawan City, where he succumbed to his wounds at 10:45 p.m.

“We will not tolerate this form of violence in this region. The police and military are conducting hot pursuit operation and will use all the resources to bring the killers before the bar of justice,” Macaraeg said.

“On behalf of PRO 12, my deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of PSSg Abejay Dandan. I assure that the family will get the full support and financial assistance,” Macaraeg added.
