President Duterte a no-show in barangay and SK elections

DAVAO CITY (May 14) — President Rodrigo did not show up to cast his vote in his polling precinct at the Daniel Aguinaldo National High School,  in Matina, during the May 14 barangay ans Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.

Duterte was expected to cast his vote at Cluster 889, in precinct – 1245-A, his chair remain unoccupied until the polling precinct closed at 3p.m.

Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go said there was “no reason” why the President did not vote.

It was not clear why Duterte was not able to vote.

In Catalunan Grande, Presidential son and former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and his reelectionist  wife Barangay Captain  January Navarez-Duterte also did not show up in their  precincts.

Barangay CaptainDuterte was running unopposed, she is the current president of the Liga ng mga Barangay and represents the group to the City Council.

Reports said, Paolo and his family are still out of the country for a vacation.

Only Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte cast her vote at about 9:40 in the morning in Daniel Aguinaldo National High School.

School principal Arlene Pernes said they had prepared the same chair the President used in 2016 and was hopeful he would show up before 3 p.m.
