DAVAO ORIENTAL – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. made a solemn visit to the Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapels in Davao City to extend his condolences and deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and acquaintances of the late Davao Oriental Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon, who recently passed away.

During his visit, the President paid his final respects to Governor Malanyaon, recognizing her significant contributions not only to the people of Davao Oriental but also to the overall progress and development of the region and the entire nation.

In a farewell message, the President wrote “I will always remember my friend Gov Cora first and foremost as a dedicated public servant. She was one of the rare few who could truly claim that she put the public interest before all else. She was also a nice lady with the uncommon quality of ‘common sense’. She is already missed.”

Accompanying the President were Special Assistant to the President Secretary Anton Lagdameo, Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Secretary Leo Tereso Magno, and First Representative of MARINO Partylist Sandro Gonzalez, among other officials.

Meanwhile, Senator Imee Marcos also paid her respects to Malanyaon. Senator Imee took the opportunity to honor her memory and express her condolences.

Following her visit to the wake, Senator Marcos is scheduled to travel to the Province of Davao Oriental later in the day. Her visit will include the distribution of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS). (Davao Oriental Provincial Government)
