Public school teacher killed in Cotabato province

KIDAPAWAN CITY , COTABATO PROVINCE— A public school teacher was killed while another teacher was critically wounded when unknown assailants aboard a motorbike shoot them at around 11:30 this morning in Pikit town.

Police identified the fatality as Joel Reformado, 36, a school teacher of Dimalasak Elementary School while the wounded teacher was identified as Elton John Lapines, 37, teacher of Mapagkaya Elementary School, both residents of poblacion Pikit.

Pikit Municipal Police Station investigation showed, that Reformado and Lapined were aboard a motorbike on their way home but upon reaching Manaulanan Elementary School, the suspects shoot them using .45 caliber pistol.

Reformado sustained gunshot wound on his head and other parts of his body, he died on the spot while Lapined was rushed to the hospital.

Pikit PNP Chief LTCOL John Miridel Calinga in an interview with dxND’s RadyoBida claimed they already have persons of interest and they are establishing the motive behind the killing.
