DAVAO CITY  – In an effort to unmask the perpetrators behind the Mindanao State University gymnasium bombing in Marawi City on Sunday, Sultan Kudarat Governor Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu has offered a PHP1 million reward for any information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.

In a statement released on Monday, “We condemn this barbaric, terroristic, and inhumane act. This kind of act could not be justified for any reason,” Mangudadatu said.

Mangudadatu said the bounty will encourage those in the know to fast-track the investigation “so that justice will be served” to the victims of the Dec. 3 blast at a Catholic mass inside MSU-Marawi’s Dimaporo gymnasium that left four dead and 50 injured.

During the Soccsksargen Regional Development Council (RDC-12) meeting here on Monday, Mangudadatu said the bomb attack “should not be something that would cause division among the Muslims and the Christians.”

RDC-12 passed Resolution 253 condemning the MSU-Marawi bombing.

Mangudadatu appealed to the people of Mindanao to remain calm and allow authorities to resolve the crime “to help prevent the situation from worsening.”
