Scheduled power interruptions to affect several areas in Davao City on August 31 and September 1

DAVAO CITY  (August 28) – Residents in parts of the city are advised to prepare for scheduled power interruptions on August 31 (Sunday) and September 1 (Monday), 2025, due to line works and maintenance activities by Davao Light and Power Company.

On August 31, a 45-minute switching isolation may occur anytime between 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM, with normalization between 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM. Affected areas include:

  • Entire Toril areas going to Carabao Statue, Eden Bayabas, Lubogan, Tagakpan, and Manambulan
  • Dumoy to Daliao Toril, including Vales Beach
  • Libby Road, Toril Memorial via Bago Aplaya Road
  • Entire Puan up to Mercury Ulas
  • Carabao Statue, Saavedra Street Toril up to Binugao
  • Sirawan, Catigan, and nearby areas

Also included are:

  • Downtown areas from Gempesaw Street and Ramon Magsaysay Avenue to Leon Garcia Street, Soliman Street in Agdao up to portions of F. Bangoy Street and N. Torres Street in Obrero
  • Sta. Ana Avenue to Lizada Street, Quezon Boulevard to Bolton Bridge (including Bucana, City Hall, and SP Building), portions of Pichon Street, and Bolton Extension
  • Entire Maa area; Diversion Road to Jade Valley, Juliville, Tigatto, Mandug, Callawa, Indangan, and nearby areas
  • Diversion Road to Matina Pangi and nearby sites
  • Entire Ecoland area to MacArthur Highway, MTS, Ateneo Grade School, Ecoland IT Park, and Davao Memorial Park
  • Quimpo Boulevard from Bolton Bridge to South Grove
  • Entire Tulip Drive up to Walnut Street and nearby areas

From 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM of the same day, longer outages will affect areas covered by the Davao Light Toril Substation going to Crossing Bayabas, up to Purok 5 ICC Lubogan, BC Chicken House, Rasay Street, and portions of Crossing Bayabas including Malta Medical Center up to Cebuana Lhuillier.

Another 45-minute interruption is scheduled anytime between 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM for the same areas, particularly Nutri Asia Davao Plant to Crossing Bayabas Toril, Purok 5 ICC Lubogan, BC Chicken House, portions of Rasay Street, and Julu Feeds up to Cebuana Lhuillier.

Davao Light assured the public that the maintenance works are necessary to improve service reliability. The company reminded residents to take extra safety precautions near work sites where personnel and heavy equipment will be deployed and to always observe posted warning signs.
