Schoolboy arrested over .5-m debt via online ‘sabong’

DAVAO CITY — Police authorities in Maco town, Davao de Oro, arrested a 19-year-old student for not paying his opponents in an online ‘Sabong’ or cockfight.

Police identified the student as Erick John Somadela Suelto, a resident of Purok 2, Poblacion, Maco, after Jerrelyn Rotimas Acosta, supervisor of the online gaming filed a complaint.

Suelto, according to the complaint failed to pay P561,000 to Bong Fours Isobel Online Gaming Place, an off off-cockpit betting station located along Maligaya, Binuangan of said town.

He was arrested at around 8:00 p.m Monday, October 25, 2021.

Police authorities are now preparing the charges against Suelto.
