Service disruptions in different parts of Davao City

DAVAO CITY — The Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. is informing their consumers that they will conduct a series of power interruptions on March 9, 10, 17, and 20, 2024, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City.

A switching power interruption will be conducted on March 9, Saturday, for 2 hours and 30 minutes from 4:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. to facilitate the normalization of ERA Substation. Specifically affected are customers from Abreeza to Carmelite Bajada, Buhangin Road up to Samulco, and all neighboring areas.

A separate switching power interruption will be conducted for 1 hour anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on March 10, Sunday, to facilitate the transfer of loads to nearby substations. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 1 hour anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on March 20, Wednesday. These disruptions are necessary to conduct upgrading works at the 138kV line of ERA Substation.

Specifically affected are customers from Gaisano Toril going to Binugao and Inawayan, a portion of the downtown area from Claveria Street going to Bajada including C. Bangoy Sr. Street, Bonifacio, Quirino, F. Torres, Circumferential Road, Bankerohan going to Matina Town Square and Sandawa area.

Also affected are those along Davao-Digos Road from Harvey’s Kambingan going to Gaisano Grand Toril, including a portion of Libby Road, Rasay Street, Agton Street, Lubogan, and all neighboring areas.

Customers from the corner of Gempesaw Street and Ramon Magsaysay Avenue to Leon Garcia Street, Sta. Ana Avenue to Lizada Street, Boulevard to Ecoland, including Bucana, and Monteverde to Villa Abrille and neighboring areas, will also be affected by these service disruptions.

Lastly, customers in Matina Aplaya, Matina McArthur Highway, Maa Road, Diversion Road from Matina Pangi to Jade Valley, Juliville to Tigatto, Mandug, Callawa, Indangan, and all neighboring areas, will also experience these switching power interruptions.

Another switching power interruption will be conducted for 1 hour which will start anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on March 17, Sunday, to facilitate the transfer of loads to nearby substations and avoid a longer power interruption. This disruption is necessary to conduct upgrading works at Victoria Substation.

Specifically affected are customers from Buhangin Lapanday Road – from Samulco to Buhangin overpass, a portion of JP. Laurel Avenue – from El Bajada Hotel to Abreeza car park, and Medical School Drive, a portion of Brgy. Obrero and Sta. Ana Avenue, a portion of Circumferential Road, F. Torres Street, a portion of San Pedro Extension, Emilio Jacinto Extension, and NCCC VP Mall.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
